I am your typical Singaporean heartland girl. Born and raised in Singapore through our much esteemed education system. Held corporate jobs with the big boys.
I’ve been blessed with opportunities to travel and live short periods of my life in Dubai, Germany and the US which added a ‘worldly’ perspective. But just as I assuage my desire to become more worldly, I’m increasingly convinced of the importance of being ‘earthly’. In our pursuit of knowing, doing and having more, we’ve bought, consumed and wasted more.
And that puts ‘worldly’ into perspective. Where is the beauty in a world more explored if it means an earth more exploited? What are the merits in a world more globalised if it means an earth more vandalised?
I am no hardcore tree-hugger. I am no vegan. I do not aspire to be a saint. But I do want to do what I should and can. I’m going to learn and I’m going to try and earn my worth on this earth. ⊕earthleng will be my platform to share and learn with the community. So I do appreciate if you can comment and provide suggestions on my posts and activities!
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.
